Here's a CNN article that was published a few years ago:
http://articles.cnn.com/2008-08-05/living/lw.nokids.nojob.wives_1_stay-at-home-spouse-wives-stay-at-home-wife?_s=PM:LIVING
This relates to me, as I stay home without children!
I enjoy being a retro housewife.

Being a retro homemaker in a non retro world
I think it is hard nowadays to be a homemaker when everyone expects women to work.
I wish things were different and that I could have neighbors to borrow a cup of sugar from!
Are we really happier now that the cost of living makes it hard to live on one income?
I may be seen as archaic, but I value home life over a stressful work life and family life over meaningless parties.

Cherie Blair, wife of Tony Blair, attacks SAHMs
Yet another feminist who is against mothers who stay home to raise their children:
http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/yummy-mummies-cherie-blair-wife-of-tony-blair-attacks-stay-at-home-moms
I thought feminism was about giving women more choices, not telling them what they should do?
It saddens me to know that society doesn't value SAHMs as much as it should!

Dealing with people's comments
I am part of a group that is in the minority today: homemakers.
I often get comments and frowns when I say I am a housewife. It hurts my feelings but
I don't let it ruin my days.
I am married and the decision is between me and my husband. It amazes me how impolite people have become!
All I want is a sweet, quiet and simple life at home.
